Packers

I believe I take so long between posts that nobody looks at this anymore. Which is fine.

Kris and I are getting very excited about our impending relocation (or re-relocation) to Saskatoon. Kris has implored me to please not make him move across the country for a third time, so it looks like this will be it.

Packing is the top priority now that the house is sold, the movers and flights are booked and appointments have been made for this and that. Kris is the packer, I am the box taper and labeller. My dear husband is much more geometrically-minded than I and consequently does a much better job of fitting things in boxes - yes you can snicker at that.

In terms of packing, my first thought was "okay, what can I get rid of". I realized that this might not be Kris' priority judging by his response to my suggestion in the car this morning.

Me: We should go through our closets and drawers and get rid of all the old clothes we don't wear anymore.

Kris: NO! You can't make me throw stuff out. NO! You made me throw out all my clothes when we moved here. I had one shirt and one pair of pants when we got here. NO! I'm not throwing out my clothes.

A little bit of an overstatement, but I did enforce a strict "get rid of the clothes that are 4 sizes to big for you" policy when we moved the first time. But it's four years later and I know Kris much better than I did then so I simply responded with a gentle "That's fine dear, you don't have to get rid of any of your clothes." Done. I think that makes me a pretty good wife.
